David Ullrey, PCLC

Hello,

My name is David Ullrey. I recently graduated with my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December of 2024 from Crown College in Minnesota. My passion for mental health stems from the needs I’ve seen in my previous lines of work. I spent six years in the Montana Army National Guard and saw first hand some of the challenges veterans face as a result of wearing the uniform. During my time in the Army, I spent two years serving as a First Responder in the Helena area. I am also aware of the many struggles they face due to the traumatic events they see first hand in their line of work. Because of these experiences, I have a passion for working with both veterans and first responders in helping them cope with the traumatic things they’ve seen. I also want to empower them to live their best life despite the high demands of serving their country and communities.

During my education, I spent many hours learning about the effects of trauma on mental health and the impacts of PTSD on a person’s life. During my graduate internship, I logged hundreds of hours working with children and Adolescents who in many cases have also experienced traumatic events in their homes.

On a personal note, I am a Helena native. After my service in the military I decided to earn my education and pursue a career in mental health. I graduated with my Bachelors in Psychology from Carroll College in 2020. After graduation, I moved to Northern Minnesota to pursue a Masters in Mental Health Counseling where I also married my beautiful wife Olivia. After finishing my coursework, we decided to settle down in Helena where you will likely find me out skiing, hiking, hunting or at the crossfit gym.
