Mckenzie Lyons, Pre-licenced Counselor
Hello!
My name is McKenzie and I am a born and raised, Montana native. I fill my cup by spending time with family, travelling, fishing, attending concerts, and paddle boarding at the lake.
I am currently enrolled at Liberty University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I previously obtained a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology and attended my undergraduate degree at Boise State University (Go Broncos!). Upon graduating my undergraduate program, I began working with developmentally disabled individuals, and those with dual diagnoses, in group homes and inpatient settings across the state of Montana. For approximately the past 7 years, I have worked in law enforcement and community corrections with the criminal justice population where I have found a passion in working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as, those who have suffered through addiction.
Throughout the years, I have realized that I find fulfillment in supporting the healing and growth of individuals throughout life’s trials and tribulations. Especially those who have experienced trauma and grief. This led me to attend school again to obtain my counselors license and provide a more therapeutic role to individuals I will serve. As I progress through my new career, I hope to specialize in trauma therapy, specifically EMDR, to best serve those who struggle with PTSD.
I believe in empowering clients as they navigate their life to find growth and healing. I am thankful and grateful to have the opportunity to learn from and work beside Rebekah as I obtain the skills to best serve my clients and support them in their journeys.
